A couple weeks ago, I experienced a glitch in the game, where I was on the ruins (foggy) map and I had the flag, and I took damage, and at the same time, began to fall through the hole in the ladder bridge and d!ed. (the damage k!lled me first). When I spawned back on the viking boats, I still had the flag! I went up the ladder and won the game. (it was the final flag). I don't know if it is fixed or not, I just wanted to put it out there that this could potentially be a major problem as some people may attempt to exploit this.
You can delete whatever is under display name, and replace it with the new name you want. Don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the settings page and hit save when done.

Indeed, several players have reported this problem. I think it has been corrected because I don't hear about it anymore.
